Place: Macedon Ranges, VIC
You may be familiar with Granite Hills through their wonderful riesling, but they also produce this equally gamay, a variety not seen terribly much throughout Australia. At 550masl this wine is, of course, destined to be fresh and zippy—and it is. It smells and tastes of gamay, but you couldn’t pinpoint it to a particular Beaujolais cru as it is undeniably of its own character. A very charming wine that we hope to see more of in years to come.
