Place: Mosel, Germany
An estate more traditional than a bottle of Kabinett with schnitzel. Founded in 1911 by Johan Joseph Prüm and now helmed by the fourth generation of Prüm, Katerina, the wines of this estate are honest and elegant expressions of the vineyards they work with. Although a pleasure to drink in their vivacious youth, patience is truly rewarded—particularly with the Spätlese and Auslese Pradikats.
Words from Mosel Fine Wines:
The 2021er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett offers a superbly appealing and hugely complex nose of lily flowers, lozenge, fine spices, thyme, rosemary, spearmint, almond, and cassis, all wrapped in great minty smoke. The wine is superbly playful on the palate, where there are refined flavors of vineyard peach, orange blossom, and almond cream. It proves airy and light-footed. The finish is very delicate and pure. What a great Kabinett in the making.
