Place: Pyrenees, Vic
Variety: Touriga Nacional
Farming: Organic
Eleven Sons is a project by M Sokolin, winemaker and owner of Gray & Bread Wine in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The wines are a collection of wines he’s been working on yet they are not necessarily related. He makes three wines from the Pyrenees in western Victoria and two reds from Sierra de Francia in Spain.
A lone block of organically farmed Touriga presides over a sea of Shiraz. Grown in the thin, gravelly, quartz-riddled soils of the Pyrenees. Potpurri, herbal, meaty. Serve with a slight chill.
