Responsible for the majority of Italian varieties finding their way into this country, the Chalmers family have long promoted the suitability and merit of Italian grapes grown on Australian soil. This work has culminated in Kim and Tennille’s Bush Vine project.
The hardy, heat tolerant grapes inzolia and negroamaro, native respectively to the arid southern Italian outposts of Sicily and Puglia, were planted to the red sandy-limestone soils of Merbein.
