In his early 20s Romain le Bars, a native Parisian, had a keen interest in wine and a desire to learn. He wanted to learn from the best and after applying for a job, he moved to the Southern Rhone / Gard in 2012 to work with the legendary Eric Pfifferling. Romain spent the subsequent 7 years working at cult winery Domaine L’Anglore.
Carbonic maceration, elevaged in barrels and a portion in tank. Declassified Lirac if you like. Romain wanted to produce a red with more fruit, but it came at the expense of less colour. As such the wine didn’t correspond to the specifications of the AOC, so the decision was to put it under Pousse Cailloux. Blue fruits, some violets, elegance. Such purity and depth. A wine that builds with air, an eagle gliding. Crunchy and juicy, jubey, graphite flecks. Minerality and length. - Notes from the importer, Vivant Selections
