Region: Mornington Peninsula, VIC
Barney Flanders Consistently makes some of the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Australia has to offer. A man blessed with two Simpsons names, he has been quitely raising the bar of wines from the mornington Peninsula for over a decade. 2020's low yields have delivered both in spades. It opens with subtle pear and grapefruit before revealing perfectly ripened nectarine fruit and green almonds. The palate is equally complex and vibrant with the barely discernible wood seamlessly intertwined with the fruit. A fine thread of acidity runs thought the body and, as satisfying as this is to drink now, this will age effortlessly over the next three to five years.
