Maxime is from a long line of vignerons and wine merchants. In 2016 he started to produce his own wine from vineyards inherited from his family. He had a different mindset and wanted to create wines with minimal winemaking artefact to embrace Volnay’s delicate, fine and perfumed wines. This is gained from minimal intervention yet the wines drink ever so classical, just more vibrant and expressive than many. 

Lifted, perfumed nose with obvious whole bunch but wrapped in fruit. Smokey, mineral and taut fragrance. Lavender and mountain herbs. The palate is light and zippy with a haunting fragrance of fresh berries and herbs lifting through the olfactory. Very long. Beautiful tannins. Extreme interest. Lovely sweet fruit supports the firm structure. Long.
