Region: Wrattonbully, SA
Sue Bell believes that wine without context is wine misunderstood. After extensive winemaking experience with some impressive accolades collected along the way, she settled in the old Glen Roy shearing shed in Coonawarra and began working closely with great growers from across the country to produce small quantities of incredibly expressive, characterful wine. This fruit comes from Wrattonbully, just north of Coonawarra, and was planted by Pete, the grower, twenty years ago—well before Italian varieties came into vogue. It’s plump and juicy with plush tannins and vibrant acidity that all come together to make one particularly moreish wine. Delightful on its own, but waltzes very well with rich, hearty dishes—a little context as Sue would say.
