Cedric Garreau makes tiny amounts of exceptional Loire Valley natural wine in a renovated stone building across from his home at the edge of the vineyards. All of his vineyards are certified organic, and winemaking is precise, but with a laissez-faire attitude. with old fashioned equipment, and a traditional approach, Cedric is making some of the best wines in the Loire Valley.
Strong mandarin and Meyer lemon scents, sweet citrus, a touch of ginger and lemongrass. More ginger and lemongrass to taste, almost ‘spicy’ in a way, and with amazing ribbons of chalky tannins. Squirts through the finish with mandarin juice and light savoury, nuttiness. Complex, incredible texture, serious white wine of depth and interest. Great, avant garde producer here. - Notes from Mike Bennie
