Region: Adelaide Hills, SA
Variety: Nero d'Avola
Nero d'Avola is usually seen in full-bodied form, grown in the hot climates of Italy’s South. The wine in front of us by architect turned winemaker (as the name suggests) Dave Caporaletti treads with a lighter step, showing freshness over warmth and brightness over density.
This wine is a celebration of cherries. Red cherries, dark cherries, maraschino, they are all here, in their sweet-sour beauty. In the mouth there is textural chew and tannic crunch with a mineral spark and mouth watering finish that screams for food.
