Region: Calabria, ITA
Variety: Greco Nero
Greco Nero is the dark-skinned variant of Greco Bianco, thought to have originated in Ancient Greece. Today, Greco Nero is found predominantly in Calabria where it is grown more widely than its bianco sibling. Single-variety Greco Nero wine, however, is rare, as the variety is most commonly blended with Gaglioppo in a number of Calabria's DOC wines.
Nasciri is Domenico and Francesca's farm where they mainly produce organic olive oil and wine in the countryside near a small village in Calabria in the south of Italy. They have a firm belief in using organic farming methods as well as various principles of biodynamics and permaculture, which they adapt to their climate conditions and soil type. They only use grape varieties that are either indigenous to Calabria or the south of Italy.
