Eleven Sons is a project by M Sokolin, winemaker and owner of Gray & Bread Wine in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The wines are a collection of wines he’s been working on yet they are not necessarily related. He makes three wines from the Pyrenees in western Victoria and two reds from Sierra de Francia in Spain.
Garcibuey was admittedly the least attractive village in the Sierra de Francia. That is, of course until the village decided to rectify the situation by comissioning artists to paint some of its buildings. This may or may not have improved the village’s standing, however the real treasure here is the old of vines of rufete and the colorful people who tend to them.
Bush vines of Rufete grown on slate at 650 meters above the Atlantic.
