Michael Corbett was tired of the flood of commercialised wines masquerading as boutique and so, with two friends, decided to start making wines for those with curious palates searching for novelty. Their ‘Vanguardist’ range represents the epitome of what they are all about: pushing the realms of standard winemaking to deliver intrigue, excitement and utmost quality, without any loss of sense of place.
There’s a sake-esque quality to this which adds great dimension. Lanolin texture with a long, lime-fresh finish. A lovely expression of an oft bland blend, combining freshness, texture and purity of fruit. Opens nicely, so try not to drink too quickly!
