Massimo Palmieri and his family left Milan for a quieter life in the rolling foothills of Marche. Obsessed with the Qveri-raised wines of Georgia, Massimo only uses Stainless Steel and Georgian Qveri to ferment and age the wines that come from his biodynamically farmed 3.7 Hectare vineyard just outside the town of Jesi. Everything is done by hand from vineyard to cellar and only a negligible amount of sulphur is added at bottling.
‘Vinosauro’ is a new cuvee for Tenuta San Marchelo, and the only white wine not made from Verddichio. This cuvee sees Trebbiano fermented and aged partially in stainless steel and partially in Georgian Qveri. A rustic and jovial wine, it shows grip from the skins but at an amount that doesn’t take from the sheer drinkability of this wine. Dried fruits, honey, citrus peel and baking spice pile into the glass resulting in an extremely gluggable but also complex expression of skin contact trebbiano.
