The words affordable and grower champagne are decreasingly spoken in the same sentence thanks to consistent—often significant—annual price increases. All the more reason for our surprise when we tried this cuvee—one of the best grower champagnes outside of the usual suspects we've seen for some time.
100% pinot noir from two organically-farmed vineyards—L'Olivière in Cuchery (planted 1990) and La Fontinette in Châtillon-sur-Marne (planted 1998). Impossibly energetic and brimming with vinous joy. Absolutely wonderful!
