Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Located in Friuli Pozzuolo, Villa job is the estate of vinous power couple Alessandro Job and Lavinia Monrreale. The estate is 6.5 Ha, with soils comprising clay, sandstone and marl. The vines on average are 20 years old and farmed organically. We have been blown away by the freshness and vitality of these wines, kicking ourselves for not discovering them sooner!
The sauvignon Blanc for this cuvee comes from 15 year old vines planted on marl, clay and silt soils. Picked in early September, the grapes spend two days on skins before fermentation occured spontaneously in open barrels using indigenous yeast. Aged in concrete for 6 months then 3 months in mulberry barrels before bottling. Extreme depth, complexity and a looong finish. Intriguing wine that deserves an hour to unravel in glass.
