Glorious Pinot Noir...
A Curation of some of our favourite Pinot Noirs of the moment! From the Bunchy and perfumed to the delicate and refined and the dense and dark, these are 6 wines featuring heavily on the rotation of our Pinot drinking schedule. Time to simmer the risotto and fill up your cup :)
2019 Garagiste 'Le Stagiere' Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula (Vic)
Yep, another home run from the Mayor of Mornington Pinot: Barney Flanders.
So much flavour is packed into this 750ml genie bottle of value. From thoughtfully farmed vineyards in Tuerong and Balnarring, it has the beuatiful savoury edges and angles to frame the ripe fruit.
2017 Marchand Tawse Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy (Fra)
Pascal Marchand is a household name in Burgundy. Canadian by origin, he has headed some of the finest Domains on the cote-d'or (Comte Armand/Domaine de la Vougeraie).
Here we have savoury, silky Bourgogne rouge that punches well above its appelation. Everything we love about the word 'Burgundy'.
2019 BK 'Gower' Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills (Sa)
This is without doubt the greatest incarnation of this wine we have seen to date. Using fruit from Lenswood grower Geoff Gower, OG Basket Ranger Brendon Keys gives up a wine that is insanely perfumed, delicately structured and in a word...'Complete'. Just beautiful.
2019 Gembrook Hill 'Village' Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley (Vic)
Juicy and Vibrant Pinot Noir from this Yarra Valley stalwart. Fruit comes from neighbouring vineyards and is blended with estate parcels.
2016 Hochkirch Maximus Pinot Noir, Henty (Vic)
Bio-dynamic, Basalt derived brawn from Henty Heavyweight Hochkirch.
2019 Gentle Folk 'Little Creek' Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills (Sa)
Gareth Belton swapped a career in seaweed for grape vines some time ago, and we are so thankful he did. He crafts delicious wines that resonate with the place from where they grow in the Adelaide Hills. In this instance, that place is the NNE facing 'Little creek' vinyeard that sits at 550m altitude at Nortin Summit. Dense fruit and supple tannin.
