Whilst Muscadet is not a grape, it is the name of the appellation producing wine from the 'not so phonetically silky' Melon de Bourgogone grape. Located at the far west of the Loire Valley, around the town of Nantes where the Loire River meets the Atlantic Ocean, Muscadet is known for it's crisp and mineral profile, with it's saline charachter comparable to Sancerre and Chablis. Like Sancerre and Chablis, we tip that it will be a perfect dance partner with a tray of oysters!
