About the producer
La Mesma is the rising star of the Gavi and is both owned and operated by the Rosina sisters, Paola, Francesca and Anna.
The vineyards lay across two key zones. The first being the clay-dominant soils around the cellar in Tassarolo, the second is the poor, calcareous soils of the idyllic cru of Monterotondo. The vines are perched high at 300masl, which has become essential to contend with the recently blazing summers.
Separate cuvées are made from particular soils and the resulting wines speak unequivocally of where the vines burrow their feet.
This is Gavi that finds another gear of complexity, power and dimension!
About the wine
Monterotondo is a cru of Gavi comprised of calcareous soils well-suited to the cortese grape. It spends five months on lees post-ferment, enhancing the grape's luscious texture without compromising freshness.
The resulting wine is ripe, rich and long. A friend to all things creamy and zesty.
